Press Release: KFC’s Tre Krusher releases debut single with Young Sid

Tre Krusher, the runaway favourite from KFC’s Find Your Krush competition on MTV, is one step closer to his dream of becoming a rapper.

The budding star releases his debut single “You Were My Krush” today with none other than Kiwi rapper of the moment Young Sid.

Amassing more than 7,500 friends since appearing in the KFC Krushers ad campaign, KFC was so impressed by Tre’s popularity it decided to help make his rapping and romancing dreams a reality.

With the help of Mai FM, Young Sid - of hip-hop group Smashproof fame - was roped in to help make Tre a star, and collaborate on the song and video.

“You Were My Krush” features Tre and Young Sid rapping about the respective things in life that they love. For Young Sid, it’s a girl. While for Tre it’s his favourite Krusher, Kookies n’ Kream, though he believes that if he can become a rap superstar he may just find his “one true shawty”.

A music video will also be released to coincide with the new single. In the video Tre Krusher is at his best rapping alongside Young Sid, dancing with one beautiful shawty and getting down on the dance floor with two of Auckland best female dancers.

“Sweeter than a mint ’98 skyline”, Tre says his song is a number one “fo’ shizzle” and has his sights set firmly on this year’s Vodafone Music Awards. Young Sid is not so sure.

"You Were My Krush" officially releases today across Mai FM, The Edge, FOUR and MTV. The song will be available for purchase on iTunes for $1.79 with any profits going to the Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
