Promotion: Build Your Own Burger

Please note this promotion has now finished. We are pleased to announce the winning burger 'The Buster Burger' will be available on our menu for a limited time from Tuesday 12 July 2011.

The 'Build Your Own Burger' Facebook promotion has now finished, but it has been a hugely successful promotion with almost 3,500 burgers being created via our Facebook application on the KFC Facebook page. The top 10 have been chosen as voted by our Facebook fans and the overall winner will be announced on Thursday 2 June with their burger appearing on our menu for a limited time later this year.
 

Build Your Own Burger Terms and Conditions:

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. Entry is open to all New Zealand permanent residents over the age of 18 years. Employees and immediate families of Restaurant Brands Ltd, and related agencies are not eligible to enter. Only one entry is allowed per person.
3. HOW TO ENTER: To enter the KFC’s “Build your Own Burger” competition, entrants must enter the promotion through the Burger Builder application the Burger Builder tab at the KFC NZ Page on Facebook. The user can also find the application on the Burger Builder tab on the KFC NZ page on Facebook.
4. In order to enter the draw, users must enter their email address and valid phone number, and must submit a burger created from the list of ingredients provided in KFC’s “Build your Own Burger” application, with a maximum of eight ingredients for each entrant. One special ingredient of the entrants’ choice may be included. Any rude/obscene language that is used in the special ingredient or naming of the entrant’s burger will be removed from the competition. Also Restaurant Brands Ltd can, at its discretion delete any burger from the competition.
5. The time of entry for online entrants will be the time at which the completed burger is submitted. Online entrants will be presented with a thank you page once the completed email entry is submitted by the entrant.
6. An entrant may delete their created burger at any time and start again. If an entrant deletes a burger that burger is no longer eligible for entry into the promotion and all votes will return to nil for the new burger built. Entrants earliest built entry into the promotion is considered the official entry.
7. DATES: KFC’s “Build your Own Burger” competition commences on Wednesday 23rd March, 2011 and last entries will be accepted by no later than 5pm on Tuesday 19th April, 2011. Entries must be received by this time to be eligible.
8. The top 10 entrants with the most votes as voted by fans of the KFC NZ fans through the Burger Builder application on Burger Builder tab at the KFC NZ Page on Facebook will make the final, and will be displayed within the Burger Builder Application gallery during the judging period. The 10 finalists will be judged by Restaurant Brands Ltd.
9. The 10 final burger creations will be judged at the offices of Restaurant Brands Ltd. The winner of the KFC’s “Build your Own Burger” competition Winner will be the best creation as judged by Restaurant Brands Ltd and will be announced on 1 June 2011.
10. The Promoter takes no responsibility for lost, damaged, misdirected, late, illegible or incomplete entries.
11. All entries will become the property of the Promoter.
12. PRIZE: There is one major prize to be won. The Prize consists of: the winning entrant’s burger creation will appear on the KFC menu for a limited time plus the winner will receive $500 KFC vouchers to be supplied in denominations of $20.
13. The winner agrees to make themselves available for publicity purposes including photography, interviews, social media and website promotion.
14. It is a condition of entry that the rules are accepted as final, and that the entrants agree to abide by the rules. The prize is not transferable, not exchangeable, and there is no cash alternative.
15. WINNER NOTIFICATION: The Winner will be contacted by the telephone number provided within seven days of the official draw.
16. The winner and winning burger creation will be published on the KFC NZ website (www.kfc.co.nz) and their first name and region on the Burger Builder application on Burger Builder tab at the KFC NZ Page on Facebook.
17. The Promoter collects and holds the email and phone number provided on the burger submission form and name from the Burger Builder application on Burger Builder tab at the KFC NZ Page on Facebook with the permission of the entrant otherwise each entry is held only to notify the Winners and to verify the eligibility and identity of the Winners.
18. The Winner agrees they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
19. The Promoter and its affiliates assume noresponsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
20. If, for any reason, this Competition is not capable of being conducted as planned, including but not limited, due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to New Zealand’s legislation.
21. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
22. Pursuant to the Privacy Act 1993, entrants have the right to access and correct any personal information.
23. The Promoter is not liable for any tax implications that may arise as a result of winning the Prizes.
24. The Promoter’s decision regarding the Winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
25. The Promoter is the Restaurant Brands Ltd of Level 3, Building 8, 666 Great South Road, Penrose, Auckland (“The Promoter”).
26. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. The user understands that entering KFC’s “Build Your Own Burger” competition you are providing your information to KFC/Restaurant Brands Limited and not to Facebook. The information you provide will only be used for contacting the winners of the promotion, except for entrants who have agreed to receive information on upcoming KFC NZ offers and promotions.
