KFC in New Zealand

KFC in New Zealand

KFC has been serving our great tasting Original Recipe® Chicken in New Zealand since our first store opened in Auckland in 1971.

Since then we have introduced a range of new taste experiences including our Hot & Spicy Chicken, Wicked Wings, Chicken Fillet Burger, Twisters, Krushers and Quarter Packs, the hugely successful KFC meals.

Beyond the menu, we’re always looking for ways to improve the products and service we offer to New Zealanders.

Most recently, we’ve been transforming our stores with an array of new additions including booth seating, outdoor seating and plasma screens. We’ve already transformed 58 stores in New Zealand and there are plans to update more. In fact, this New Zealand store design has been so successful that it has been accepted as the new worldwide standard for KFC!

Recycling

Our 97 KFC stores up and down the country have been committed to recycling for many years now.  Two of the biggest potential waste products in our industry are packaging and cooking oil – and we have programmes in place to recycle both.  At every store, cardboard, paper and packaging is sorted, compacted and collected each week for recycling (80 percent ends up being recycled). Customers are also able to recycle all our cardboard packaging by using their home or community recycling bins.

Working with Environmental Recovery Services New Zealand Ltd (ERS), we are proud to recycle 85 percent of our cooking oil.  We take our recycling efforts very seriously and have ongoing monitoring in place to make sure our recycling programmes are running as they should.
